    Toon in for £10million striker

Newcastle are ready to launch a bid for Lorient striker Kévin Gameiro.

The French international has an impressive record for Lorient scoring on average in every other game, but has also been linked with a summer move with Valencia.

ESS suggests Gameiro, 23 would prefer a move to La Liga but financial constraints with Valencia may hamper a move, which could see the £10million rated striker line up at Tyneside next season.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has been promised all of money from the sale of Andy Carroll, leaving the former Hammers boss with a £35million war chest and his top priority will be to land a centre forward to replace the departed Carroll.
