Aguero sparks transfer frenzy

Atletico Madrid confirmed last night that Argentina star Sergio Agüero can leave for £40million.

The 22-year old confirmed Monday evening he wanted to leave Atletico which caused a frantic stir amongst Europe’s top clubs.

Atletico president Enrique Cerezo said "There are many teams apart from Real Madrid. It would be an act of aggression if Madrid paid the £40million get-out clause but, if another team comes and pays, it would not be an act of aggression.

"It may be that Real are interested but I don't think he'll sign for them. And we would put a clause to whoever buys him that they could not sell him to Real."

City and Chelsea have both been linked with the striker previously and are set to rekindle their interest once again, but it is Real Madrid who are favourites to the land Kun.
