Does Falcao Move Suggest Lack Of Chelsea Pulling Power?

So, there we have it. Radamel Falcao has chosen his destination for next season, and it isn't the Premier League. The beefy Colombian was seen as a replacement for £50m flop Fernando Torres meaning Roman Abramovich will now have to flick through his book of contacts to continue his search for a big money goal-gobbler. But it raises the question, do Chelsea still have the pulling power that they have held previously under the trazillionnaire Russian?

When Rafa Benitez was drafted in to lead the club to the top of the topflight, people laughed. Those who weren't affiliated with the club, that is. Despite the success the fat Spanish waiter has had through his career people's perceptions of the man are dire.

The deal was a short term deal until the end of the season, which is now over, with a plan of installing former Barcelona man Pep Guardiola as his successor. But the Spaniard stuck two fingers up at Stamford Bridge and jumped of the first EasyJet plane to Bavaria to take the throne at Bayern Munich.

Although fans fobbed it off as a one off, the Falcao deal is another slap in the dangly bits for Abramovich. The 27-year-old scored 32 goals last season for Atletico Madrid and Monaco owner Dmitry Rybolovlev was quick to throw some money at the forward in order to beat the Blues to his siganture.

Imagine a game of cards between Abramovich and Rybolovlev. It'd probably draw in more crowds than Monaco do...

However, the score currently stands at 1-0 to the latter.
