Liverpool striker going nowhere, agent says

After a frustrating first season on Merseyside the agent of Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has moved swiftly to quash any rumours linking the player with a move away from Anfield, Sky Sports reports.

Reports across Italy have been linking the former Roma striker with a move back to the country, with Fiorentian supposedly keen on the player. Having only joined Liverpool last summer a move away from Anfield would amount to a failure, as Borini has endured a frustrating season, blighted by injury and a lack of first team opportunity.

As a result the player's representative, Marco de Marchi, has come forward to state that they have had no contact with Fiorentina and went on to underline to commitment of his player to Brendan Rodgers' side. He said:

"I've heard the Fiorentina rumours, but there has been no direct contact, Fiorentina are a club on the launch pad, they have laid the groundwork for an important project by signing great players and results will soon arrive."

"However, Borini has bought into the Liverpool project and they are one of the most important clubs in the world. He wants to be back by the end of the season to play in the European Under 21 Championship with Italy."
