Toon keeper subject of Italian interest

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is the subject of interest from Italian giants AC Milan. According to Talksport the Italian outfit have been tracking the Dutchman over the course of the season and will make a move in the summer to secure his services. The Rossoneri currently lie 3rd in Serie A and are firmly in the shake up for a place in next seasons Champions League, a prospect the Toon keeper may find hard to resist.

Krul was exceptional last season, with his 15 clean sheets and overall commanding presence a key factor as the club finished in 5th position, just 4 points off UEFA Champions League qualification. The Dutch international has suffered with a couple of injury problems this term and hasn’t been quite as imperious this time round. However, at the age of 25, Krul has at least another 10 seasons to offer at the highest level and would represent a great replacement for the aging Christian Abbiati.

Newcastle, namely Owner Mike Ashley, were praised last summer for the manner in which they staved off prolonged levels of interest in star players such as Krul, Yohan Cayabe, Demba Ba (now departed) and Cheick Tiote. However, if reports regarding interest in their Dutch Goalkeeper are to be believed, it may be that the London born businessman is required to show similar levels of commitment to Alan Pardew and the club’s fans.
