Bayern Munich hitman in-demand from Premier League clubs

The Daily Mail today reports that Chelsea and Manchester City could both turn their attentions to out of favour striker Mario Gomez in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The newly crowned German champions are apparently willing to listen to offers for the 27-year-old and his agent Uli Ferber has admitted that he remains “unhappy” with the situation in Munich. Gomez is another striker that could add genuine quality both Manchester City and Chelsea.

Especially City as Gomez could carry on the 'moody striker' role currently occupied by Carlos Tevez who is constantly surrounding by transfer speculation and gossip.

Interestingly The Daily Mail reports the “loser” of the Edinson Cavani race between the two sides could turn to Gomez as a secondary transfer target. Despite his side winning the German Bundesliga in record style this season it seems the purchase of Gomez will prove to be the 'wooden spoon' between the two mega-rich clubs.

However it is hard to imagine either side offering Gomez super-high wages as Financial Fair Play regulations kick in, and after all Gomez is a striker who has been out of favour this season at the Munich side.

Looks like there's two in this queue and Gomez remains at the back...
