Mancini set to smash British transfer record

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is said to be unfazed by Atletico Madrid’s demands for their star striker Radamel Falcao, and is reportedly willing to break the British transfer record in order to land his man.

The Mirror has reported that Falcao has a release fee of €60 million, around £52 million. Reports surrounding the lethal Colombian forward have strengthened amid rumours that former Atletico striker Sergio Aguero is unsettled at the Etihad.

City are confident of getting their man, as potential suitors Real Madrid have allegedly dropped out of the running as they do not feel that he is worthy of his release fee. Chelsea are also interested but the Eastlands club are confident of beating them to the 27 year old’s signature.

Peripheral figure Edin Dzeko could move in the other direction, while Aguero now looks set to enter into a courtship with Real Madrid who will concentrate all of their efforts upon landing the unsettled Argentinian.

Should Aguero be allowed to leave their fans would demand that the club bring in somebody of Falcao’s quality, as Aguero is a real fans’ favourite.

His fellow countryman Gonzalo Higuain may also end up at City, as he has instructed his representatives to engineer him a move away from Madrid.
