    Chelsea defender off to UAE?

Chelsea captain John Terry has been linked with a shock move to the Middle East this week, with a few clubs apparently capable of securing his services. The UAE clubs are reportedly readying deals that would allow the former England captain to finish his career over there.

32-year-old Terry regularly holidays in Dubai and therefore, in light of the current uncertainty over his future, a plethora of clubs have been put on red alert. Former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, for whom Terry was a regular, is now sporting director at Al Nasr of Dubai, which may provide a plausible avenue for Terry to explore.

When questioned by the Sunday Mirror Sport a UAE-based source highlighted: “There are a few clubs who could afford John Terry and his signing would be a massive coup over here.”

Terry currently has a year to run on his £150,000 a week deal, but no fresh talks have been scheduled. Interim boss Rafa Benitez has demoted Terry down the pecking order since his controversial appointment. In spite of this, Terry has made little secret of his wish to finish his career at Stamford Bridge, where he has spent his entire playing career. Perhaps the captain, leader, legend will be no more.
