Anzhi set to turn their noses up at Torres

Fernando Torre’s agent and Chelsea have lets face it got a heck of a job on their hands if reports are to be believed that the player is likely to be surplus to requirements come the end of the season. One club who might have been an interested party are Russian money bags Ahnzi, however ESPN Soccernet are reporting that even they are not looking to flex their hefty financial muscle on this one.

To be fair to Ahnzi you can’t really blame them given that Torres would stick out like a sore thumb next to Willian and Samuel E’too, one a striker who is coming to the peak of his powers and the other one of the greatest goal scorers of recent times. The Russians are normally first in line waving the cheque book when a big name becomes available but it seems even for their often endless and thoughtless spending a move for Torres would be a step to far, highlighting just how far the Spaniard has fallen.

Unfortunately then for Chelsea it looks like offloading Torres is going to be as difficult as selling ice to Eskimo’s, meaning that once great players agent is going to need some supreme marketing skills to find Torres an even half decent club for next season.
