Smith seeks games at The Den

Still a long way from regular playing time at White Hart Lane, Adam Smith was happy to extend his loan spell at Millwall.
The right-back had been on loan at The Den since November but that deal was set to come to an end following the transfer window. Millwall manager Kenny Jackett, however, managed to acquire the defender’s services for the rest of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Smith could have been given a chance to play in the Premier League, with Wigan Athletic reported to be interested in signing him. Despite this, the 21-year-old claims he decided to stay at Millwall because he is playing every week and sees it as an opportunity to improve himself.
Smith has represented England at various youth levels and is currently a member of the Three Lions’ under-21 side. He has played just once for Tottenham in the Premier League, making use of loan spells at lower league clubs such as Torquay, Bournemouth and MK Dons.
Not including a brief stint at Leeds United last season, it is only with Millwall that Smith has had a proper chance to test himself in the Championship. Remaining with the Lions until the end of this year’s campaign, can he establish himself as a top English defender?
