Scotland targets extended Oakwell stay

Its fair to say that Jason Scotland and Barnsley have hit it off from the first date, with the big striker scoring two vital goals for the Tykes since his arrival from Ipswich. These goals have seen the struggling outfit move to the cusp of safety and with things going so perfectly it is no surprise to hear Sky Sports News reporting that Scotland is targeting an extended stay at Oakwell.
Its fair to say that both parties have been having hard times of late with Barnsley struggling in the relegation zone for the majority of this current campaign, whilst Scotland had found himself little more than a spectator at Portman Road. The arrival of new manager David Flitcroft has seen the championship strugglers fortunes rise given they have taken 10 points from a possible 12 in the last four games and the hope will be that this is not just a false dawn but the start of a real revival, with the hope being that Scotland can continue to repay the love given to him by his new club.
One of the forgotten men of Swansea's rise Scotland has a long history of scoring goals in the English football league, so its easy to see why the new boss took a chance on the larger than life character despite his age of 33. Only time will tell whether both Flitcroft and Scotland are just enjoying a honeymoon stage right now and rockier times do lie further down the line, but for now the sun is certainly shining on both.
