Bruce unimpressed by Campbell walk out

Peter Odemwingie without question took the prize for the most ridiculous deadline day footballer behaviour, however DJ Cambpell did everything he could to push him close with TEAMtalkstating that the striker walked out on talks with Hull without notifying the tigers. Oblivious to his suitors knowledge Campbell decided that he had heard enough of what the Yorkshire club had to say, as he made a run for as talks took a break for lunch.

This bunking off behaviour unsurprising left a rather bitter taste in the mouth of Steve Bruce, who had seen Campbell as the ideal man to fire his team into the Premier League.

We will probably never know just what occurred in this situations, who knows if Campbell did not like what he was hearing or maybe his lunch was so grim he simply could not face it. However joking aside just as with the sour tasting Odemwingie story the most likely explanation is that this is another tale unfortunately characterised by money, with Campbell's runaway act seemingly the result of interest from Blackburn, a side who are currently languishing in mid table compared to the promotion chasing Hull.

The behaviour shown by Campbell and his associates would be more at home on an episode of Waterloo Road rather than in a football ground, so with that in mind Bruce might just feel that he is better off without the petulant striker.
