      Kabore makes Marseille exit

The continuing trend of footballers flocking for Eastern Europe's mega dollars is showing no sign of let up, with ESPN Soccernet indicating that Charles Kabore has been snapped up by Kuban Krasnodar.

Kabore, the captain of the Burkina Faso side that remarkably reached the African Cup of Nations, had recently lost his place in the Marseille side and it seems he has taken this as an indication to move east.

His time with the French giants was generally a fruitful affair with the midfielder making almost 200 appearances for the club and helping them to several honours including a league title in 2010, so its understandable that he is moving on with a heavy heart. Even this season he was still generally a consistent starter however upon returning from South Africa he has found his seat taken by Togo midfielder Alaixys Romao, with an unforgiving management judging the player on a couple of rather uninspired performances prior to his departure for the Burkinabe fairytale.

Whether he will settle or not in Russia remains to be seen, given that it has not exactly proved the most popular haunt for African players who have made similar moves, with several barely lasting the season in Eastern Europe. Whether this will apply to Kabore is yet to be seen, nevertheless it seems strange that someone who was on the ACON's star has made a move to a club who you probably wouldn't but in the brackets of Russia's biggest.
