Eriksen Ajax apprenticeship nearing completition


Just a quick heads up, but Christian Eriksen will be a name appearing a lot when your sitting on your summer sunbed reading the tabloid transfer gossip columns, with ESPN Soccernet reporting that the highly rated Danish midfielder is stalling on a new deal at Ajax.
We all know just how much the Premier Leagues elite love a highly rated young play maker so this news is likely to have pricked up the ears of most of English footballs top clubs.
It is reported that Brendan Rogers is particularly keen on the 21-year-old and he is likely to have been placed on red alert by this latest development, although its likely the Reds will need to act quickly if they are to see off a host of Europe's top clubs particularly if they can't dangle the carrot of champions League football.
Having spent several years developing his skills with Ajax it would now seem that Eriksen is ready fly the Amsterdam nest, like so many superbly nurtured youngsters before him.
With the player out of contract in 2014 and the prospect of a new contract now looking unlikely, the Dutch club look to be targeting getting a significant return on their prized asset in the summer rather than letting him leave for nothing come 2014.
