Boateng finally set for Dnipro exit

You might even be forgiven for thinking that Derek Boateng had signed for Fulham, given how heavily linked he was with the London club and that they had a work permit application accepted for the player midway through the window.
However, for whatever reason the story seemingly went quiet and the move did not take place, as a result Olympiakos are now set to opportunistically make a move for the player according to Sky Sports News.
Boatang is one of number of players who have become increasingly frustrated with life at Dnipro in the Ukraine and like so many he has found escaping the club nearly as difficult as getting out of Alcatraz.
Olympiakos might not fulfill him with his ambition of playing in the Premier League, something which also was snatched away from him several years ago when a move to Middlesbrough failed to come through. Nevertheless a move to the Greek side would at least offer him a way out of his Dnipro prison sentence, whilst it will also offer him the sunshine that Ukraine did not which if ex team mate Samuel Inkoom is to be believed was one of Dnipro's many unattractive features.
Anyone who caught the African Cup of Nations semi will have been hard pressed not to feel for a tearful Boeteng as his highly fancied team were stunned by undergoes Burkina Faso and that couple with the breakdown of his Fulham move have meant its not exactly been a great few months for the holding player, however if reports are to be believed things could soon be ready to pick up.
