Chelsea and Manchester United eye up the 'new Neymar'

When Neymar arrived in England, many mouths watered with excitement at the prospect of watching the young Brazilian's hyped-up talent at Wembley, and transfer speculation linking the prodigy with a move to the Premiership (with Chelsea in particular named fairly frequently) was rife. However, after a disappointing showing against the Three Lions on Wednesday (perhaps 'disappointing' is a little harsh, but he certainly didn't live up to the hype surrounding him) , the fickle football society – and, according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea and Manchester United – seem to have begun to look elsewhere in search of new talent to hail.

Enter relative unknown Neilton. He plies his trade at the same club as Neymar – Santos – and due to his fancy hairdo, lithe frame, close control and penchant for scoring goals (in particular a recent hat-trick) he has thus been dubbed the 'new Neymar'... and subsequently linked to every single big club in Europe. How we can call someone the 'new Neymar' when the original has yet to establish himself I am not quite sure, but we've managed it anyway. Regardless, the 19-year-old has a reported £5 million buyout clause in his contract, which, to the likes of Abramovich, is merely loose change. However, don't expect any moves from big clubs for the kid just yet. Just because he scores one hat-trick in Brazil doesn't prove his worth as a star at the top level. He seems a talented lad, and has undoubtedly got some potential, but we'll need to see much more of him before deciding on his quality. And no, we don't want any more comparisons to Neymar.
