      Spurs consider left back swap

Well this is a little sad. According to the Metro Andre Villas Boas is prepared to let Benoit Assou-Ekotto leave for Inter Milan as long as he can pick up Alvaro Pereira in exchange.

BAE has always been a firm favourite at White Hart Lane since his switch from Lens in 2006 and will be missed not just for his footballing ability but also his cracking hair, great name and rather surreal admission that he doesn’t really like football and just plays for the money. This might not sound particularly endearing but his honesty off the pitch and unpredictability on it has always been refreshing.

A move for Pereira makes sense on AVB’s part after the Portuguese coach worked with him at Porto and then tried to sign him whilst at Chelsea. The Uruguayan is now plying his trade in Serie A – no word yet on if he actually likes football or not – and would presumably be happy to link up with Villas-Boas as Spurs look to secure fourth place in the Premier League.

Assou-Ekotto’s problem this season has been with injury, leaving him side-lined for most of the season and forcing AVB to search for alternatives. Jan Vertonghen has filled in well on the left but is much better suited to playing in the middle so Tottenham may be looking for a more reliable player to occupy the left back slot.

Whatever happens Benny you will be missed.

massivly overrated player if u ask me .. wouldnt be sorry at all to see the back of him . always been a weak link in our defence and not good for me heart watching him in a spurs shirt . hugely respected by most spurs fans but i cant have it at all . just like the small fella at the other end . another hugely overrated one dimensionsal player is defoe .. lash it and hope for the best .. great for 10 games .. shocking for 20 but most just overlook that and worship him .. the guy is 30 for gods sake and has been like this from day one .. will never be a proper top 4 side while we put up with theese very streaky players ..

      Eyes wide shut...
      Your name fits this post.
Defoe works hard and would score more goals if we had a midfielder who could make the special passes.
I'm hoping Holtby can do this.
      You want to knock players.
Bale is under achieving...not a team man at all. Plays when he wants to. Has 15 minutes each game.
      Gallas..please let 'Arry take him.
Walker has been a mess this year. Trying to do too much.
All these must go to reduce payroll and bank roll a new strike force of Damio and Bony to add to Defoe and one youth striker.
      To move out
      Gomes
      Bentley
      Jenas
      Ade
      Rose
      Huddlestone
      Townsend
      Livermore
      Gallas
What are any of these players offering Spurs? Nothing and they cost a lot of money each week.
      Get them out.

      Next up...
When Bale leaves in the summer Spurs must bring in an out and out class left sided player and call up Pritchard.
