    Fulham bid for Huddlestone

Fulham have looked in dire need of a new central midfielder this season after losing Moussa Dembele and Danny Murphy last summer. Steve Sidwell and Giorgos Karagounis just haven’t quite filled the creative void – surprise that. According to the Mail the man they have picked to help solve their issues is Tottenham’s Tom Huddlestone.

The Cottager’s have come in with a late £5m bid and Jol is confident of getting his man having worked with Huddlestone previously at Spurs.

Huddlestone has made over 150 appearances for Tottenham but found himself increasingly marginalised over the past two seasons, often having to play understudy to Dembele or previously Luka Modric.

AVB has conituned to work with one creative and one more defensive midfielder this season with Dembele the clear first choice to play alongside Scott Parker or Sandro. Huddlestone has had to make do with stepping in when Dembele is injured and would surely relish playing regular football with Fulham.

Jol is also in advanced talks with AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson. The Dutch star can play on the left of midfield as well as at left back and will give Fulham a useful option as they try to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap. Emanuelson is also another player who has worked with Jol in the past, the two were at Ajax together and look set to link up again after the 26-year-old tweeted 'a strange day... Leaving Milano for London... Tomorrow we know more'
