Graham chooses Black Cats over the Boro

Swansea striker Danny Graham has chosen Sunderland for a fee of around £5.5 million. A transfer possibility that had been circulating for some time looks set to be completed before the 11pm deadline today.

The former Middlesborough striker had however been linked with a return as Swansea had accepted a bid from the Championship side before the deal had been done at Sunderland.

As the day started Graham headed north but it was unclear whether it was the Riverside or the Stadium of Light that was Graham’s destination until camera’s spotted him at Sunderland.

As he completes his medical and finalises a deal Graham will understand that his first task when joining the Black Cats is that he is going to have to win over the fans.

In the week Swansea took the trip north to play Martin O’Neill’s men and throughout the match Graham was booed by the home supporters, who now appear to be his own supporters once the move is completed.

Danny Graham has had a good goal scoring record at any of the clubs he has been at. His best season was whilst playing for Watford in 2010-11 when he scored 24 league goals and finished the club’s top scorer. Last season in his first experience of the Premier league he netted 12 times and 14 in all competition.
