Spurs scan France for a forward

With Spurs in short supply of strikers it appears yet another forward from Europe is being linked with the club. With Jermaine Defoe recently back from injury and Emmanuel Adebayor still on international duty with Togo a new man may be what AVB wants.
The latest target is from France in the form of Bafetimbi Gomis of Lyon. Gomis has been previously linked with Liverpool and other premier league clubs but nothing ever progressed from speculation.
What does Gomis possess and what would he bring to Spurs? The French international is strong on the ball and does well linking up with others around him, he is a natural finisher and his height of 6ft gives him that menacing presence in the air. When he first started playing professionally he was known as the ‘Baby Drgoba’ and carries similar traits of the Ivory Coast man.
Gomis has scored 10 or more goals in every season he has played in for Lyon since 2006-07 so he certainly has an eye for the back of the net. The only downside to this transfer is the unlikely co-operation that Spurs may have from Lyon. As the French side are engrossed in a battle for top spot with PSG they may be reluctant to let their striker go as his services will still be required in Ligue 1.
If the sale was to happen the price for Gomis would be somewhere in the region of £7 million a price which is considerably cheaper than that of Leandro Damiao who is the number one target for AVB.
