Will Spurs finally snap up Damiao?

When Clint Dempsey is suddenly your only available option to play up front, you know it’s probably time to buy a new striker. Although publicly Andre Villas-Boas’ has maintained that he is happy with his forward options, the Daily Star are reporting that Tottenham are looking to finally wrap up a deal for long term target Leandro Damiao.
Daniel Levy has been tracking the Brazilian striker for what seems like a lifetime, but necessity could force Spurs to finally match Internacional’s £20m asking price. Jermain Defoe is out injured and Emmanuel Adebayor is away at the African cup of nations and even when the two strikers return AVB’s side have looked a little light up front. They are probably one top class goalscorer away from securing fourth place and although Damiao is yet to prove himself in Europe his goalscoring record in Brazil suggests he could be the man for Spurs.
If a cash deal can’t be agreed then apparently AVB is prepared to offer out of favour keeper Heurelho Gomes –yeah he’s still there – in a part exchange deal. Quite why this would persuade Internacional to do business I’m not sure, perhaps they’re in need of a new kit man.
If Tottenham fail in their bid for the Brazilian then the Star suggest they will instead turn their attentions to Sevilla stiker Alvaro Negredo who is another long term target.

The answer to the question in the heading is .... NO
We don't want excuses come Feb 1st we want a new CLASS striker, be ready AVB & MR Levy for a backlash if one isn't signed.
This won't happen. I don't believe the player wants to leave Brazil and Levy doesn't want to pay the asking price.
If the answer is No,do not expect Champions league football next year..Spurs should sell the "dead wood" and buy a player that will take them to the next level.and there is no doubt that Leandro will do exactlyn that.
If you do not beleive me,aqsk Sandro.
In short the answer a big stinking fat NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and in truth we shouldn't even be trying to he don't want to come to us or even the prem he is looking to get to spains top 2 and no where else. We need to go all out for Negredo he is a proven striker in europe so we know he can settle in our league and 100 goals in 4 years in Sevilla is nothing to be sniffed at also he will cost at least £5 million less than the brazilian so come on Levy and AVB wake smell the coffee and get this lad in he will propel us into that top 4 spot we are all hoping of getting COYS
I too do not think Dimebar is the answer yeah he looks a good player and that but he aint exactly 'young' and unproven in any of the european leagues. We should be going for a proven striker. Rossi has just gone to Fiorentina for 8mill why on earth nobody took him I don't know. Negredo a much better option IMO
We already have a world class striker, he's just been played out of position until now. When he gets back from Togo he should lead the line as he is perfect for AVB's formation. It's not a new striker we need - rather we need to trust AVB and work with his preferred formation ie. making Togo the lead striker No 9. Have you seen African Cup - he's getting his confidence back and this is exactly at the right time when we need him. Togo will take us to third place and in a couple of years we may even win the title with him.
This WILL happen but only when those flying pigs stop!!
Why do you fuckwits believe everything written by the low class press ie the Daily Fail, Mirror and the like. Do any of you honestly believe that Daniel Levy or any of the Spurs hierarchy is going to run to the press and tell them which players they are going to try and buy? Of course they are not going to do that so the low lives make up stories on the hoof aided and abetted by the con men in Brazil and elsewhere in order to bump up the asking price of their so called stars this is then fuelled by various bloggs and everyone tosses their toys out the pram when a deal isnt done. I bet it was never on the f**king cards in the first place.Dont it just piss you off lol.
