Peterborough legend Boyd set to move on

He has become a name synonymous with Peterborough United, but Sky Sports News are reporting that George Boyd could be set to make the move to promotion chasing Crystal Palace. There are many players who will be moving on this window whose loyalty and morals you can question however that simply does not apply to Boyd, a player who has given Posh over six years of loyal service and countless magic memories.
There have been countless occasions when the talented winger was subject to transfer bids, nevertheless he stayed loyal to the club that made his name. In fact it would appear that it has only taken an offer from his boyhood club, together with the possibility of the chance to play premiership football to turn Boyd's head.
Whilst Boyd is going to struggle to step into the foot steps of the supremely talented Wilfred Zaha he is probably amongst the best options Ian Holloway could have turned to, given he has the ability to turn a game like few others players in the championship whilst he certainly posses swagger that can't be matched by anyone in the league.
The transfer window has often become a place littered with players throwing their toys out their pram as they try and hold their club to ransom over a move away, George Boyd should provide these players with an example for he has more than served his time with his current club before being granted a move away. His nickname of "the white Pele" might be more than a little cheeky but Crystal Palace are without question acquiring a player whose ability on the ball and the things he can do with it are second nobody in the league.
