Redknapp aims for Fernandes reunion

It's time for a blast from transfer window's past now, with Sky Sports News indicating that Harry Redknapp is working on a deal to bring Manuel Fernandes to QPR. Redknapp has recently highlighted that recruiting players to his relegation battle is proving tricky and it appears that he was not lying when he suggested he was looking far and wide for new faces.
Fernandes a couple of years ago was one of those familiar transfer window faces; a player who was persistently rumoured around a whole host of Premier League clubs each window. Those rumours began following a successful loan spell Fernandes undertook with Redknapp at Portsmouth all the way back in 2006, a spell which saw Fernandes play a significant part in Portsmouth's survival bid. Fernandes also gained further successful English experience following a spell with Everton in 2008, however since a move to Besiktas the once popular gossip column name has fallen off the radar.
That was until now, with Redknapp keen to add players of not only quality but also who are prepared to fight for his teams cause he looks keen to turn to the services of Fernandes a player who he knows will give Rangers just what they are looking for. That or he is making a rather audacious bid to recreate the team that took Portsmouth to safety back in 2006. On a more serious note Rangers are likely to need to work hard to secure a move given Besiktas' reluctance to sell, however should Harry get his man Fernandes will be just the type of players the R's are after.
