      Galatasary make ambitious Drogba approach

The lure of Istanbul could be ready to strike once more as Galatasary look to make their second audacious bid of the window by bringing in Didier Drogba, as is being reported by BBC Sport.

The Turkish giants have already raised more than the odd eyebrow in this window by snapping up Wesley Sneijder, who was supposedly one of the windows more hotter properties. Having seemingly snapped up the Dutchman with shocking ease they now look to set to make a move for Drogba, another player who despite being believed to be highly in demand does not seem to have been inundated with offers since he became available.

Now Drogba might be 34 but he is still someone who when the mood takes him is simply un-defendable, you only have to look to Chelsea's Champions League exploits last year for evidence of this. So with that it was always one of the more bizarre decisions to see a player of such ability head to China. This move was always going to be a huge risk to take and like his ex Stamford Bridge team mate Nicolas Anelka, Drogba was seemingly looking for the exit door just moments after setting foot off the plane.

A move to Turkey might not be what some would have predicted but there are few clubs where you will be worshipped as he would be in Instanbul, you only have to ask Sneijder about the heroic reception he received upon arrival for evidence of this. Further to this Galatasary are making impressive use of one their prized assets; Champions League football and at the offer of a more than winnable last 16 tie against Schalke. It is certainly something that is likely to have influenced Sneijder's decision and it could also tempt Drogba.

Their movements in this current window are without question opportunistic but as the old saying goes if you don't ask you don't receive and there is certainly more than a tastey kebab and a nice bath in the package that Galatasary can offer.
