Everton make Fer swoop

Everton fans, this is not a dream - we can bring you news of actual transfer incomings at Goodison Park and its not even deadline day yet, with ESPN Soccernet reporting that a deal has been agreed to sign Leroy Fer from FC Twente.
Thus far this has been a window of worry for Toffee's fans with endless rumours circulating about their better players being targeted by other clubs, whilst finding a story about any player incomings has been about as rare as a Phil Neville goal.
Fer might be the 368th player to be likened to Patrick Viera, however there is far more to his game than promise given that he has been capped twice by Holland and that he has been receiving rave reviews for his performances with Twente. His physical style should certainly suit the Premier League and add an extra bit of toughness to an Everton midfield that on occasions has not been as tough to breakdown as it once was.
However what is perhaps most exciting for us neutrals is that Fer will bring a little bit of colour to the Premier League if stories like him buying his girlfriend a twenty grand horse despite her living a flat and therefore being unable to look after it continue, although Moyes is likely to be keen to keep such stories to a minimum.
If there could be one criticism of Everton this season its probably that they have at times been a little bit soft in regards to letting games slip, so its no shock to see David Moyes looking to sign a man nicknamed the "Bouncer" to add a little more fight, power and strength to his central midfield. Moyes had earlier indicated that he would likely be Christmas Eve shopping in this window and given his perchance for a last minute deal Evertonians would still be advised to keep their eyes on Jim White and Co as Big Ben hits eleven, with the signing of Fer showing that the Toffee's are very much ready to do everything possible to clinch that coveted fourth place.
