    Bruma could stay in Germany

After leaving his homeland at the age of 15 to join Chelsea’s youth setup in 2007, Jeffrey Bruma may feel that he should be in and around the first team by now.

However, after making his debut for the Blues’ senior side in 2009, the Dutch defender has spent the last couple of years away from Stamford Bridge.  Initially joining Leicester City on loan for the remaining months of the 2010-11 season, Bruma moved to Hamburg at the start of last season and has since remained with the German club to gain experience.

The main reason for Chelsea sending him on loan was for their player to receive more game time, but it now appears, according to Sky Sports, that a permanent transfer may be on the cards.  Unlikely to get a game should he return to the Blues any time soon, Bruma has suggested that this would be a move he may be interested in.

Having represented the Netherlands at all youth levels, the defender made his debut for the senior team in 2010 when he was just 18 years old.  Despite this relatively early call-up, Bruma has since made only three further appearances for his country and acknowledges that he must be playing regularly for his club if he is to regain his place.
