Reina linked with Barca

We could be in for a spot of goalkeeping merry-go-round if the Telegraph are to be believed. First of all it seems as though Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina could be keen on a return to Barcelona where he came up through the youth ranks and made 30 appearances before joining Villareal.
Reina’s dad unsurprisingly seems particularly keen on his son joining the best side in the world "I am absolutely convinced that Pepe would be more than delighted to return to his Barcelona, where they made him into an upstanding man from the time he arrived at the age of 12 until he left," Miguel Reina told radio station La Xerxa.
But what of Barcelona stalwart Victor Valdes? I hear you cry. Well Victor has told his club that he doesn’t wish to extend his current deal which expires in 2014, as he wishes to broaden his experiences. I guess being the goalkeeper of a side who never give their opponents the ball might get a little tedious from time to time.
Valdes’ announcement means that the Catalan club would probably try and offload him in the summer rather than allowing their stopper to leave for free the year after. Amongst Valdes potential suitors are Manchester United who the Times report are having increasing doubts about current first choice David De Gea’s suitability to the Premier League. Quite why they feel Valdes, who has never played in England, would adapt any better in unclear. Perhaps it’s because De Gea has the body of a scrawny teenager and Valdes looks more like an extra from a Spanish version of Green Street, who knows.
So that’s Reina to Barca and Valdes to United, will we see De Gea to Liverpool? Or will the Reds make do with Brad Jones whilst De Gea spends his days on the Old Trafford bench practicing his punching.
