Uruguay managed to dig themselves out of a hole!

It was nearly a very embarrassing away trip for Uruguay before a ball had even been kicked. The South American team led by Liverpool star Luis Suarez were minutes away from borrowing a second division team’s away strip for their match against Columbia.
Only hours before the match the team’s kit arrived and by the skin of their teeth or some very good delivery driving by the van man the club managed to avoid a bizarre embarrassment. Although the result made it a bad day at the office for Uruguay as Columbia backed by the impressive Radamel Falcao won 4-0.
It is reported that the club had to pay a huge fee to get the kit on time before the match. I’ve heard a Concorde plane is the fastest mode of transport to a destination and I bet it isn’t cheap to higher one of them these days.
The kits were needed so desperately by the club as they have been designed specifically to deal with the heat in Panama where the match between Uruguay and Columbia took place. The near kit disaster didn’t help the team for their preparation as they had to travel just under 3000 miles to get to the match.
There is one thing for sure there are plenty of excuses on offer as to why they lost this match. I’m sure the travelling coaching staff had plenty of things on their mind before even thinking about the tactics and team for the match. Any more of these hiccups and the club’s World Cup qualifying campaign could be ruined.
