Mariners end Forest Green's unbeaten run

There is no lomger an unbeaten team in the Conference Premier league after Grimsby Town won 1-0 to Forest Green Rovers who before today's game were the only unbeaten side left in the division.
This match was also going to be close as Town themselves have only lost one match so far this season and remain the only team unbeaten on the road in the division.
It was a close fought match at Blundell Park as both sides played out a cagey first half where very few chances were created.
It took until midway through the second half for the deadlock to be broken when Nathan Pond beat goalkeeper Sam Russell to a Frankie Artus cross. This goal proved to be the winner despite some late pressure from the league leaders
Grimsby Town joint-manager Paul Hurst said how the team were nervouse before the game and that those nervous were used positively in the match to get the result needed.
Where as Forest Green Rovers manager Dave Hockaday felt that one free kick cost the team the match as he felt there wasn't really a massive threat from the home side during the rest of the match.
Next week Grimsby Town are away to bottom of the league Kidderminster Harriers and Forest Green Rovers are at home to mid-table Alfreton Town.
