"We won’t be going for Moutinho again"

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has publicly said that the club are unlikely to chase the £22 million rated Porto star Joao Moutinho when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Spurs almost had their man in the summer only the move fell threw on deadline day. AVB was slightly disappointed with the outcome as it would have been an ideal replacement for Luka Modric, although he must be satisfied with the captures of Dembele and Dempsey (two Premiership proven players).

Joao although Moutinho has said he is a fan of AVB and his style of management Spurs are sure they won’t feel the consequences on not signing the Portuguese  midfielder as Scott Parker is on the road to recovery. If Parker’s recovery goes well they should have him back by January and with an ever expensive market it seems unlikely Mr Levy will allow the cheque for £22 million to travel to Porto for the star.

Scott Parker was such an influential player last season for Tottenham and now that Modric has departed it seems that Parker will be leading the midfield for most of the season for Spurs. With Dembele in the team to add the creativity in attack and the width of Lennon and Bale Spurs could again have another good season and maybe in with a shout for silverware.
