Everton set to take a Hit?

Everton are being linked with a move for the man with the hammer of all left foots, Thomas Hitzlsperger, according to the Daily Express. Hitzlsperger, who we last saw desperately trying to smash his way to Premier League safety for West Ham under the gloriously jovial Avram Grant, is available on a free transfer with Everton boss David Moyes looking to strengthen a midfield that is threadbare at the best of times.

One imagines the sight of Hitzlsperger paired with fellow club-foot Darron Gibson. Opposition goalkeepers would certainly be asking for defensive cover when facing those two! Not that the former German international can't also play a bit as well as shoot, Darron Gibson he is definately not.
