Silva to get a golden deal

Manchester City are ready to splash the cash once again, but not to buy a shiny new player this time, but on an already shiny, silver in fact, current player.

He's Silver in the form of David Silva, who has reportedly picked up the prying eyes of Real Madrid and Barcelona over a move back to Spain.

Goal.com believe City have flashed a £200,000 a week deal under the eyes of the gifted midfielder this week and are close to agreeing an extension to the deal which expires in 2014.

Silva has previously rebuffed claims he would leave City to join La Liga, but will this time make his commitment concrete, and extremely rich, by signing a new deal with the champions.

The 26 year old will now be elevated to the same wage bracket as ultra-money-bagged Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero at the top of the pyramid. Then, there will be nothing more flashy than silver, sorry, Silva.
