Spurs row could harm midfielder deal

Spurs' row with nasty old Porto could mean any potential new deal for Joao Moutinho may be over after being so close to landing the elusive player on transfer window deadline day.
It is reported that Porto saw Tottenham's £22 million bid and then a £24 million bid and accepted them both, but then rejected it at the final hour of the window, causing the hierarchy at Spurs to be pretty upset at the conduct of the Portuguese club.
Andre Villas Boas still remains interested in the playmaker and is trying to twist Daniel Levy's arm to dip back into the market in January as he continues to look for a replacement for Luka Modric.
However, a Spurs source has told Goal.com that the prospect of Spurs rising to £24 million for Moutinho again remains rarer than finding a winning lottery ticket with the club's relationship partnered with Zenit St Petersburg's signing of winger Hulk, making it incredibly difficult for business to go ahead.
