Mancini's wish to be granted?

Roberto Mancini has had his little huff about not getting anymore new recruits in the summer transfer window and lo and behold, a new signing is on the cards according to a rumour in the Daily Mirror.
To be fair, if every rumour linking a player to Manchester City this summer turned out to be true, there would be no need for Mancini to complain about a lack of activity in the transfer market ever. Even if he lived to be as old as Methuselah and Joan Collins combined.
Anyway, the rumour this time around is that City are eyeing up a last minute swoop for Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia with Mancini sending his coach Fausto Salsano to watch the 25-year-old in action on Saturday. It should be specified that “in action” is in reference to him playing football. Just to confirm.
Garcia has a £25million buy-ouy clause in his contract and has impressed in his three years in Portugal since leaving Real Madrid.
City have reportedly already been in contact with the player's agent over a deal.
