Rodgers hopes for double import from Spain

Liverpool lead director Ian Ayre is off for a jaunt to Spain and he's not going for a summer holiday. Well, maybe he is but only if he is combining business with pleasure.

The Metro reports that Ayre is being sent to Spain to personally negotiate some extra recruits to the Brendan Rodgers revolution at Liverpool, kind of like a reverse version of the international brigade in the Spanish Civil War only completed different on every level.

The paper reports that following Liverpool being priced out of moves for Fulham's Clint Dempsey and Bologna's Gaston Ramirez, Ayre is being sent to Spain to see through deals for Barcelona's Cristian 'Let me hear you say Tello' Tello and Real Madrid's Nuri Sahin.

The Metro adds that Tello is set for crunch talks with new Barca boss Tito Villanova this week to discuss his future but he has reportedly been told he can leave either on loan or for £5million.

The 21-year-old could join Sahin at Anfield as Jose Mourinho is full of kind words for Rodgers but the Turk, though wanting to come to the Premier League, is thought to favour a move to Arsenal instead.
