Spurs accuse rivals of 'fake bid' over Lloris

Sabotage is the name of the game in the ongoing chase for French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris according to the Metro today.

The paper reports that both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are keen admirers of the Lyon keeper but their tug-of-war (metaphorical, probably) has taken a sour turn.
The Metro explains that Spurs have accused Arsenal of making a fake bid for Lloris in order to drive up his transfer price.

In a move approaching Football Manager-between-mates-piss-taking levels, the alleged fake bid would see Lloris' transfer price pushed up to £16million which is £3million more than Spurs are willing to pay.

The Metro reports that French weekly newspaper Le 10 Sport have reported that the ploy is a move between Arsene Wenger and Lyon boss Remi Garde who played under Wenger at Arsenal.

Arsenal are not thought to be in the market for a keeper and the French paper believes that Lloris was never a serious target for the Gunners which only adds fuel to the flames.
