New contender in race for Berbatov signature

Another contender has emerged in the race to sign an unsettled Manchester United player who is keen to leave the club.

Zenit St Petersburg are in the race for Dimitar Berbatov according to Talksport today with the Russian champions keen on snapping him up.

Russian newspaper Life Sports have reported that Zenit have made contact with Berbatov's agent and are willing to offer the Bulgarian a two-year deal worth £3.9million.

Berbatov is expected to leave United this summer after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford and expressing his dissatisfaction with life at the club.

The former Spurs striker is reportedly available for a cut-price fee of £5million and has attracted interest from across the Premier League and Europe according to newspaper reports.
