Afellay seeks alternative options

There are a lot of things you don’t want to return to after a holiday; finding that your house being robbed, forgetting you had a pet and therefore not arranging for it to be fed, a meteor hitting just your house and nobody else’s and so on.
Right up there on the list is walking through the front door to find, in amongst a massive pile of post, one rather bad looking letter with ‘important’ written on it in red font saying you’ve been fired from your job.
This is pretty much what has happened to Ibrahim Afellay who, according to El Mundo Deportivo and reported on by Talksport, cut short a holiday to hold talks with new Barcelona boss Tito Villanova who promptly informed the Dutchman that he is not in the plans of the new Barca boss and will be a squad player.
This has prompted more concrete interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Inter Milan in the 26-year-old who’s career in Spain has been hampered by injuries.
Afellay has already ruled out a switch to Lille according to Talksport as he believes a move to either of the Premier League clubs or Inter could yet be arranged.
