Spurs seek to take advantage of stricken Spanish outfit

A firesale could be set to take place at a cash-strapped club in Spain prompting repercussions in the Premier League. Not repercussions involving clubs realising they cannot keep living beyond their means but repercussions that will see English clubs swoop on the stricken Spanish outfit.

Malaga, who you may remember were taken over by super-rich Sheik Al Thani (the super-rich part might be unnecessary as the word “Sheik” kind of implies that) not too long ago and snapped up lots of talent at high, high prices.

Fast forward to the present time and now Malaga, who did qualify for the Champions League this season, look set for a financial implosion.

The owner allegedly owes several players' wages, has refused to bail out previous debts and the Spanish tax office is investigating payments on salaries and transfers.

In this context, the Daily Mail is reporting today that Spurs are hoping to take advantage and snap up Malaga's striker Jose Saloman Rondon who has also been watched by Arsenal and Chelsea.

Spurs are hoping to put together a move for the 22-year-old which would see Giovanni Dos Santos move in the opposite direction.

Rondon has scored 27 goals in the last two seasons in La Liga and Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed there have been offers for the striker from Germany and England.
