Where next for Brazil's flying full back?

The term “Brazilian full-back” has always been something of an oxymoron close to breaking the Trade Descriptions Act as “full back” is something of a loose notion when it comes to the Brazilian variety.
Cafu and Roberto Carlos have always been the archetypal expidents of this but in recent years, Maicon and Dani Alves have staked their own claim in recent years and now Maicon is being linked with moves away from Inter Milan after six hugely successful seasons at the San Siro being a right back/ right midfielder/ right winger.
La Liga champions Real Madrid have offered £6million for the full back according to the Metro and look set to pip Chelsea to his signature.
The 30-year-old has less than a year left on his current deal in Italy and has reportedly been offered a new deal worth £3.5million over three years.
Chelsea are in the market for a new right back after releasing Jose Bosingwa this summer and transfer listing the sole Jose Mourinho Portuguese signing remaining.
The Blues have been linked with Lukasz Piszczek of Borussia Dortmund, Ajax’s Greogry van der Wiel, Lille’s Matthieu Debuchy and Manchester United youngster Rafael da Silva in recent weeks but Maicon could be the next target of Roberto Di Matteo’s.
