    Aquilani waits on Liverpool talks

Brought to Anfield to replace Xabi Alonso, Alberto Aquilani has spent the last 2 seasons on loan in his native Italy; 2010/11 at Juventus and the campaign just finished at AC Milan.

It is odd that a player bought for £20million is totally unsure about his next move, he has been a Liverpool player 3 years, but has only made 28 appearances for the Merseyside club.

Those 3 years have seen the Anfield managerial hotseat occupied by 3 different managers, it looks like Brendan Rodgers will become the 4th. Aquilani understands that he will have to speak to the Northern Irish manager, and see whether he fits into his plans before his future is resolved.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian said: 'I need to understand whether there are conditions for an agreement that satisfies everyone.

'I'm waiting for Liverpool to decide the name of the new coach, then we will meet in order to understand their plans. Only then will I be able to make the right decision.

'It is important that I have the opportunity to make a contribution, to be able to play well and play regularly.'

Tall, strong and good on the ball, the 27 year old can keep possession going, something that, perhaps, Brendan Rodgers may look for.

His agent, Franco Zavaglia, stresses that patience is the order of the day according to Sky Sports.

'The situation is that there have been no developments,' Aquilani's representative told spaziomilan.it.

'We must be patient and wait for Liverpool to make a decision.

'There is no problem, but before talking about what Alberto wants to do we must first understand what the British club intend to do.'

The playmaker who wore the number 18 shirt for Milan, has scored 2 goals for his parent club.
