Bruce Looks To Strengthen Hull

New Hull City boss Steve Bruce is looking to freshen up his squad with some familiar faces, the former Sunderland boss has taken over at the KC stadium following the sacking of Nicky Barmby last month and is looking to add Premier League quality in a push for promotion next season.
Bruce has been linked with England international Emile Heskey, 34, after the striker was released by Aston Villa at the end of the season. Heskey has no plans to retire just yet and feels like he still has something to offer at the top level, “I still want to play at Premier League level. From when I started, I always said I wanted to play at the highest level wherever that might be. You always strive for that.”
Heskey is now on the wrong side of 30, Premier League aspiration may be slightly out of reach if he wants to feature regularly but there would be no shame in a drop down to the Championship. Steve Bruce will be hoping his previous working relationship with Heskey will sway the ex-Liverpool man to join Hull.
Another former employee Bruce is looking to join his squad is Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon after his release from Sunderland. Gordon spent 5 injury plagued years with The Black Cats making only 88 appearances following his then record transfer of £9 million from Hearts in 2007.
Bruce made it clear he wants to add a new goalkeeper to his squad, “the obvious one is a goalkeeper and it doesn’t take Einstein to work out we need one”, pinpointing the Scot, “Craig Gordon is a possibility.”
