QPR Set To Go Green

Robert Green is set to be playing Premier League football next season as several sides fight for his services. Currently on international duty with England at Euro 2012 Green opted to not sign a new deal with West Ham and is available on a free transfer after his deal ran out.
Green played in 45 games for West Ham United last season which ended in the London club being promoted back to the top flight through the play offs at the first time of asking. Prior to relegation from the Premier League, Green made 177 Premier League appearances in 5 seasons after a £2 million move from Norwich City.
A possible destination for the former Norwich City stopper could be last season’s Championship runners-up Southampton. Saints had been linked with a £3.5 million move for surprise England call up Jack Butland but are looking to the more experienced man to Green rather than the young Birmingham ‘keeper.
Southampton aren’t alone in the chase for 32 year old Green’s signature as both West Brom and QPR look for experience between the sticks next season. QPR boss Mark Hughes has been linked with several Premier League goalies, including West Brom’s loanee from last season Ben Foster, but is thought to favour unattached Robert Green.
Hughes is so keen to have the England ‘keeper at Loftus Road next season that he is ready to send QPR officials out to Poland to finalise a 4 year deal making Robert Green his first signing of the summer.
