Swansea looking to lure Dos Santos

Swansea would not usually be a city that you would associate with fluid, free flowing football. The 2011/12 season, though, is an indication that you cannot pre judge anything in football.

After playing with the sort of liberty that their stadium name suggests, Swansea City have been linked with Giovani Dos Santos, formerly of Barcelona, but now of Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23 year old has been frustrated by a lack of first team opportunities in North London and has been loaned out to Ipswich Town, Galatasaray and Racing Santander during his time at White Hart Lane.

The Mexican produced an excellent display in his country's 2-0 win against Wales in the USA on Saturday, as Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers looked on from the stands.

Any move for Dos Santos would be a loan one according to BBC Sport, as the Swans are currently in the process of breaking their transfer record by signing Gylfi Sigurdsson for £6.8million, who himself enjoyed a loan spell in South Wales last season.

The Spurs number 17 has made 13 appearances for the Lilywhites in his career, scoring 2 goals.
