      Cole after Anfield return

Joe Cole has had a good year, he's impressed during a loan spell in Ligue 1 and made a new home in Brittany. The next on the 30 year olds wish list is a return to Liverpool.

After joining Liverpool in the summer of 2010, the former England international endured a tough year on Merseyside.

A successful loan move to Rudi Garcia's Lille followed, but the playmaker admits that he would like to prove his doubters wrong in a Liverpool shirt.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: 'I would love the chance - if they wanted to - to put it right.

'I don't want that on my career. I've been a success at West Ham, a success at Chelsea, and come to another country in France and had a good season.

'It's just that season at Liverpool. It's in their hands. I'm easy whatever way but the fire still burns with me and I would love to have the chance put it right if that's what they wanted.

The departure of Kenny Dalglish earlier this month has also given Cole optimism for his future in the North West, according to Football365.

'Kenny was a good guy - he didn't lie to me. I wasn't in his plans.

'It [Dalglish's departure] just changes my future. Whereas it was quite clear before Kenny got the sack that I wouldn't be going back there, who knows what will happen now? I'm just waiting on some kind of information.'

The former Chelsea man has impressed in London and Northern France, scoring 9 goals in 42 appearances last season.

It appears that his new aim is to impress in Northern England in the 2012/13 campaign.
