      Swansea in Sigurdsson agreement

Swansea City have agreed a fee with Hoffenheim to bring Gylfi Sigurdsson from Germany to the Gower Coast.

The fee is thought to be around £7.2million according to BBC Sport, and the Icelandic international is set to enter negotiations with the Swans about personal terms this week.

Sigurdsson joined Swansea on loan in January until the end of the season, the 22 year old impressed at the Liberty Stadium, netting a cool 7 goals in 17 starts.

The former Reading man, who joined Hoffenheim in 2010, was originally subject of a £4million bid from Brendan Rodgers' side.

After this was turned down, with the German outfit keen to recoup the £6.5million they paid for him, Swansea then upped the bid.

An impressive debut season in the Premier League for South Wales side, they gained around £45million from TV rights and prize money.

Sigurdsson, in April, said that he would be happy to remain in Wales second city beyond the end of the season.

Despite the Swansea chairman saying it would be difficult to land the midfield maestro, it appears that the Swans have got their man.
