Kompany not leaving City

In news that will please Manchester City fans nearly as much as their first title in 44 years, Vincent Kompany has committed himself to the Etihad Stadium outfit.
Inspirational in City's title winning campaign, the 6'4 centre half has found himself subject of praise from all corners.
There have been whispers that a host of glitzy European names have been keeping tabs on the City skipper, but he has today moved to assure Citizens that he will continue to ply his trade for Roberto Mancini's men.
In a story reported by Team Talk, the Belgian believes that his side can build on their league success and challenge in the Champions League.
The Premeier League player of the season told The People: 'I'm happy in Manchester. Lots of people want me to talk about moving but what interests me is Manchester City.
'The project here is not just a sporting one. It will bring a lot to the city and to the people.
'We can't stop with the title. We want to win the Champions League.
'Is it possible in three to four years? Maybe not, but when I see what's been achieved at the club in the last few years, nothing is impossible.'
Originally signed as a defensive midfielder in August 2008 for just £6million, Kompany has been so impressive in sky blue that Alan Hansen said that he's: 'arguably the best transfer market buy of all time.'
The City number 4 is excited by what could lie ahead in eastern Manchester, and believes a golden era could be on the horizon.
'We're going to build a new training centre to bring together the junior and senior players.'
'The project is to take the club back to its former glories but people won't see this for perhaps another 10 years. I'm happy to be part of all that.'
'It's not a three-year project but rather one for 10, 15, 20 years. It's exciting to think I can be part of taking the club where it wants to go.'
The 26 year old made 42 for Roberto Mancini's men last season, scoring 3 goals, including the winner in April's pivotal Manchester derby against United.
