Defoe's future in doubt

Jermaine Defoe has raised doubts about the long-term viability of his Tottenham career putting...ummm.. no one on alert. Yet anyway.
In an interview with Talksport which has also been turned into a news story on their website (that’s multimedia journalism folks, the choice about how you digest the information is all yours), Defoe expressed his concerns about his lack of playing time at White Hart Lane last season.
The Spurs striker was an in-out figure throughout last season with Spurs gaffer Harry Redknapp preferring the option of Emmanuel Adebyaor up front on his own and the January signing of Louis Saha further limiting Defoe’s playing time.
With Redknapp hoping to make Adebayor’s loan deal permanent in the Summer, Defoe could find himself further pushed down the White Hart Lane pecking order which prompted the striker to question his future at the club but will not make a decision until after Euro 2012.
Defoe said; “It’s a difficult one. I’ve never said I want to leave the club, I’ve just said I want to play. As a forward you just want to get some sort of rhythm and a run in the team. That wasn’t the case towards the end of the season. I’m just going to see what happens. I’m going to concentrate on England and Euro 2012. The most important thing for me is scoring goals and that’s when I’m at my happiest.”
