      Wenger's in and out list

Remember the old days of the Playstation 2 with limited save slots on memory cards so you had to think long and hard about what to delete so you can free up a slot for your new FIFA save? Well, replace “memory cards” with “25 man playing squad”, “save slots” with “players” and “you” with “Arsene Wenger” and voila, we have an intro to an Arsenal rumour story.

The Mirror today reports that in order to make room (and cash) for transfer targets Junior Holiett and Steven N’Zonzi of Blackburn, free agent Saloman Kalou and Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila, notably all most likely cheap signings as Wenger insists Arsenal “will not spend too much in the market” this summer. Deja vu anyone?

What follows is a list of all of the players Wenger wants to shift and where the Mirror reports they are headed off to with Arsenal transfer fixer Dick Law trying to offload them, apparently.

Self-styled best striker in the world, Nicklas Bendtner, will end up in Germany with Sunderland unwilling to make his loan deal permanent whilst Lukas Fabianksi wants regular first team football anywhere. Meanwhile, Carlos Vela is wanted by Real Sociedad and Espanyol with offers for Johan Djourou more than welcome but Denilson (who returns soon from a loan spell at Sao Paulo) is unwilling to take a pay cut from his £50,000 a week which is understandable seeing as he will never get that at a club with any sense. Lastly, Manuel Almunia has already been released and Andrey Arshavin will make his loan move at Zenit St Petersburg permanent. And breathe.

To recap, that’s Bendtner, Fabianski, Vela, Denilson, Djourou, Almunia and Arshavin out with Hoilett, N’Zonzi, Kalou and M’Vila in which all sound suspiciously Football Manager but there we go.

Lastly, 18-year-old Crewe starlet Nick Powell is also on Wenger’s hit-list but they will face completion for the midfielder from newly-crowned destiny achievers Chelsea.
