Robben-Ribery spat alerts English clubs

Anyone watching the second leg of the Champions League tie between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich last week wouldn’t have thought one little incident would lead to Bayern’s star player being linked with a move away from the club but that appears to be the case.
During that match, Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery rowed about who would take a free-kick. Usually, that would be that and onwards with more important things. However, the two reportedly came to blows at half time (this writer would back Ribery in that particular confrontation for the record) and now the consequences have gone even further.
Talksport reports that German newspaper Bild have revealed that Robben is unlikely to sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena and will look for another club. Reportedly, Robben and his father (also his agent) are furious with the way Munich dealt with the spat and have snubbed the offer of a contract until 2015 from the club.
Bayern’s President Uli Hoeness said; “All I know is that he was just about to put pen to paper and now that has all been postponed.”
Whether or not putting Hoeness’ comment and the spat together in a 2+2 equation is correct or there are other reasons for Robben’s about turn is debatable.
However, before the contract looked to be signed and sealed, Talksport report that Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool were all linked with the Dutch winger and this new development may well perk their interest again in the 28-year-old and offer him a second stint in the Premier League.
